Travel Insurance for Customers or Members

Many banks and associations have purchased Chartis Finland travel insurance for their customers or members. Chartis Finland travel insurance can also be purchased through certain travel agencies and airlines. Indemnity can be claimed based on these insurance policies by filling and sending a notification of travel loss:

In case of damage or loss

In serious medical emergencies the insured may contact emergency assistance company International SOS at +45 70105054.

In the following cases the insured must always contact international SOS:

  • repatriation
  • repatriaton due to death
  • in case expenses are incurred by a family member in order to visit a hospitalized insured
  • in case an advance payment is required for bail
  • legal aid

Please note that an insurance card is not a credit card. Invoices cannot be sent directly to Chartis Finland without prior consent. In cases of minor costs, the insured must first meet these costs themselves before subsequently applying for indemnity from Chartis Finland. For medical treatment expenses incurred in Finland, the insured should apply for compensation under the Finnish Health Insurance Act. Such compensation can be applied for when paying the incurred expenses at the medical center.

In order to speed up settling your claim, please enclose the following documentation:

  • travel ticket or other proof of trip
  • in case of medical expenses or trip cancellation: a duly dated and signed physcian's certificate
  • the original receipts for goods, services, treatment and medication costs
  • in case of delayed or missing luggage: a copy of the claim form presented to the carrier or a police report
  • in case of delayed or missed departure: a certificate issued by the transport company detailing the delay and the reason thereof
  • police reports (if available)
  • witness statements (if available)
  • in case of death: death certificate

In case additional information is required Chartis Finland will request this information in writing.
