Junior Advantage

As a parent, ensuring that your child has a bright future is probably your most important priority. From providing a good education to material comforts, you would always want the best for your child. However, unforeseen events such as a serious illness or accident to your child can have far reaching consequences.

This is why we have introduced our Junior Advantage plan. Junior Advantage is specially designed for children between the ages of 1 month to 12 years. These plans offer comprehensive protection against life’s unexpected events.

• Accidental Disablement – Should your child suffer a disablement following an accident a lump sum of up to $50,000 will be payable. This amount increases by 5% every year for 10 years.

• Accident Medical Reimbursement – Following an accident we will cover your child for up to $1,000 of his/her medical fees.

• Surgical Reimbursement – In the event that your child requires surgery, whether due to an injury or illness, we will help you cover up to $1,000 of the costs.

• Daily Hospital Cash – To ease the financial worries should your child be hospitalized due to an injury or illness, we will pay $60 for every day that your child is in hospital for up to 365 days.

• Accidental Death Benefit – We will pay a lump sum of up to $5,000 in bereavement expenses should your child suffer a loss of life arising out of an accident.

• Special Education Benefit – In the event that your child suffers one of the following permanent disablements arising from an accident,  a lump sum of $100,000 will be payable.

    - Permanent Total Disablement
    - Loss of or the permanent total loss of use of two limbs
    - Loss of speech and hearing
    - Loss of sight in both eyes

• Emergency Medical Evacuation/Repatriation – Should your child suffer an injury or illness whilst overseas for academic exchange, field or immersion programs organized by schools and needs to be evacuated, we will cover up to $250,000 of the cost of this evacuation.

• Subsidy of Child Care/School fees – If your child is hospitalized for more than 5 days due to an injury, we will pay a subsidy of $200 for his/her school fees.

• Parental Allowance – We will pay a daily allowance of $40 to you so that you can be with your child should he/she be hospitalized.

• Optional Child Critical Illness – This provides you with the option to cover your child for $10,000 for 15 child critical illnesses listed below.

- Severe Asthma
- Severe Epilepsy
- Leukemia
- Bone Marrow Transplant
- Kawasaki Disease with Heart Complications
- Insulin Dependent Diabetes Mellitus
- Haemophilia
- Rheumatic Fever with Heart Involvement
- Acquired Brain Damage
- Still’s Disease including Severe Rheumatoid Arthritis
- Loss of Limbs
- Aplastic Anaemia
- Encephalitis
- Tuberculous Meningitis
- Death as a result of Hand, Foot, Mouth Disease

1. What is the eligible age for Junior Advantage? 
 Eligible ages are 30 days to 12 years old for Junior Advantage.

2. Does Junior Advantage cover treatment by a Chinese Physician? 
Yes. Treatment by a Chinese Physician for an injury is payable up to a maximum of 10% of the limits under the Accident Medical Reimbursement benefit per accident i.e $200 per accident.

3. What forms do I need to submit for a new application? 
When submitting a Junior Advantage application there are 3 forms that you will need to complete and submit

c. Know Your Client and Our Advice and Reasons Why form

4. Will the premium increase with age? 
No. The premiums will not increase with age.

5. Does Junior Advantage have a Renewal Bonus? 
Yes. There will be a 5% increase in the benefit on the principal sum for "Accidental Disablement" at each renewal of the policy up to a maximum of 50% ($25,000) provided there has been no claims made on the policy. 

6. Does Junior Advantage cover hazardous sports? 
Yes. Junior Advantage covers hazardous sports such as SCUBA diving, rock climbing, skiing etc. as long as these activities are done on a leisure basis. The insured cannot be engaging in the sport in a professional capacity or where he could earn income or remuneration from engaging in the sport.

7. Does Junior Advantage have any optional riders? 
Junior Advantage has an optional "Child Critical Illness" rider. Youth Advantage does not have any optional riders.
