Underwriting
As a Chartis underwriter, you will work closely with brokers and agents to provide a wide range of insurance solutions that address the needs of commercial or individual consumers. You will evaluate the risks and exposures of potential insurance buyers and decide the appropriate level of coverage, negotiate terms, and determine pricing. Our underwriters specialize in a full range of industries and product lines, including commercial property and casualty and specialty lines such as aviation, executive liability, environmental, and global marine and energy. We also have underwriters dedicated to personal lines, providing property and general liability products for high-net-worth individuals and families.
Claims
As a member of our claims team, you will be part of global claims organization of unparalleled breadth, depth, and experience. In one of our specialized claims units, you will join a group of highly skilled professionals who work together to investigate and analyze losses and finalize settlements. Our claims professionals utilize dedicated resources and state-of-the-market technology to ensure consistency of claims handling, effective account stewardship, and the expeditious resolution of claims.
Actuarial
As a member of the Actuarial team, you will use data and analytical skills to determine the possible risks and profitability of underwriting particular policies. You will perform a full spectrum of tasks, including statistical analysis, pricing, loss reserving, research, planning, and forecasting. Our actuaries help predict risk and advise management in planning for future business opportunities and setting reserves for losses.
Legal and Compliance
As an attorney at Chartis, you will be responsible for advocating legal and regulatory compliance in all aspects of the business. You will take a proactive, partnership approach with assigned business units to identify emerging legal and regulatory risks and implement solutions to meet business initiatives and strategies. Our attorneys complement their knowledge of local regulatory and corporate law with a strong business understanding and expertise in insurance law.
Finance
As a member of our Finance team, you have the opportunity to provide expertise in a wide variety of roles, including accounting, tax, treasury, internal audit, and financial analysis. You will be responsible for providing valuable financial information on business units around the globe for our executives, shareholders and regulators. With a high level of interaction with other areas of the organization, our finance professionals are also tasked with determining the impact of new accounting and reporting requirements and developing appropriate strategies to implement them.
Sales and Marketing
As a member of our Sales and Marketing teams, you will work closely with individual business units to develop, implement, and sustain a full range of sales and marketing strategies and activities. Your responsibilities may include the development of agent and broker relationships, coordination and communication of new products, and internal and external communications and promotional strategies. You will also partner with service centers, vendors, and agencies in the execution of strategic and tactical initiatives, including advertising, media relations, brand management, collateral production, web-based communications, events, and sponsorships.
Operations and Systems/Information Technology
As a member of our Operations and Systems team, you will provide strategic and procedural support in a number of specialized disciplines, including policy issuance, premium collection, claims handling, and administrative and technology issues. You will implement and deploy processes, provide operational support, and maintain proprietary and other systems both nationwide and at local levels. Our Operations and Systems professionals unify and standardize the workflow of thousands of employees across the organization. As a member of our IT team, you will be responsible for managing the organization’s critical business information, while developing efficient and progressive technologies needed to meet the ever-changing needs of our insureds.
Human Resources
As a member of our Human Resources team, you will partner with business units to support the recruitment, development, and recognition and reward of top talent.
