We have extensive experience in this field and in addition we can tap into a large company-wide pool of expertise in order to prepare the best offering to you in relation to your needs. We can match local customer specific needs and act according to local insurance requirements and regulations.
• Our company works with the New Institute Cargo Clauses developed 01/01/09 by the Joint Cargo Committee at Lloyd’s. Should you wish to cover a type of cargo on alternative clauses we are prepared to consider your request and discuss it further.
• An open cover policy saves operational costs on requesting cover for each and every shipment separately allowing client to reallocate resources to higher income generating activities instead.
• Cargo certificates can be issued without delay by your employees on the spot directly from our internet certificate issuing facility at AIGMarinecargo.com, without having to wait for us to send or approve the certificate (this service is subject to a minimum annual volume).
• Project Cargo Insurance - this cover caters for insurance of various types of cargo whilst in transit such as equipment, machinery, large pre-fabricated concrete sections, etc., which are part of an infrastructure, large industrial, etc. projects including loss of profit as a result of Delay in Start Up also known as DSU cover or ALOP (Advanced Loss of Profit). This cover normally requires submission of comprehensive information on the part of our clients.

Our in-house Marine Loss Control Services (MLCE) is one of the things that distinguish Chartis from our global competitors. These services are provided to our clients through a dedicated team of Loss Control Professionals strategically located to assure delivery of Value Added services. All services are coordinated through our Regional Loss Control and delivered by our global team. This approach assures the delivery of high quality services by qualified professional surveyors under our direction and supervision. Due to the volume of business and geographic areas covered, we also utilize a large network of qualified, independent marine surveyors worldwide with expertise in various areas of the maritime industry. Our in-house Loss Control Professionals coordinate the efforts of these experts at several opportunity points to assure our clients of quality control.
