Speed Limits in Germany:
Paragraph §3 of the German Road Traffic Act (Straßenverkehrsordnung) applies the following speed limits (if not posted otherwise) for vehicles:
- Inside of cities: 50 km/h
- Outside of cities: 100 km/h
- Recommended speed on express highways: 130 km/h
Please note that some countries within Europe have different speed limits!

Speeding and other violations of the German Road Traffic Act (Straßenverkehrsordnung) might lead to fines and penalty points in the Central Register of Traffic Offenders. For example exceeding the speed limit by 31 km/h in a car inside a city in Germany means:
