Positive Care

The statistics for female and male cancers are alarming - one in nine will develop some sort of cancer during their lifetime. Between 1994 and 1996, an average of 17,845 cases of cancer were reported (exculding non-melanoma skin cancer). Breast cancer was the second most frequent in females (19% of cases) and prostate the second most frequent in males (12% of all cases). Source: Ireland cancer statistics 1994-96.

Avoiding stress can play a key part in any cancer recovery process, and without the burden of financial strains, patients can stand a much higher chance of a successful recovery.

PositiveCare provides the right kind of financial support to make a genuine difference. Following the diagnosis of breast cancer or a gender specific cancer, financial support begins at once, allowing staff to concentrate on recovery without worrying about money. On diagnosis PositiveCare provides an immediate cash payment, followed by income payments during treatment, with additional payments after surgery related to the cancer and during hospitalisation.

PositiveCare is offered through worksite marketing to businesses as a complement to the traditional benefits package or use it to extend benefits to sections of the workforce who have not previously been covered.

The staff pay for their own cover, taking advantage of group rates which are far more reasonable than they could arrange individually. Premiums are collected by direct debit and all administration is undertaken by Chartis in Ireland.
