Steve Brewis our Northern Regional Manager on BIBA 2012 at Manchester Central

Well once again a warm Northern welcome was extended to our friends both new and old at BIBA 2012 in Manchester. This is the third time in four years that BIBA has been held here - Manchester Central is a fantastic venue and I’m delighted to report that the general view was this was the best BIBA ever. As always we saw great variety in the exhibition hall, from small stands to those the size of a football pitch.  We had dancers, we had medieval Knights and we also had an appearance by The Stig! This is a great showcase for our industry that once again we were delighted to host. There was a lot of positivity around this year’s conference, with a real feel that the industry is in good health.

We had great footfall on our stand which gave us plenty of opportunity to talk about multinational insurance opportunities for brokers – which was the theme of our stand, as well as the subject of the Chartis workshop we ran at BIBA with our own Kate Bootham. 

Thanks to a great team effort before and during the conference, we saw the best attendance BIBA has ever seen. A big thank you has to go to the entire Chartis team.  Our local team from Manchester really stepped up, and we enjoyed tremendous support over the two days from several colleagues from “down south” including our MD Nicolas Aubert.

Next year BIBA is heading to the Excel Centre in London. Looking forward to seeing what our Events Manager Lesley Kinahan comes up with. We call her 'Wonder Woman' - because that is exactly what she is!
