PLL MuniProtect®

PLL MuniProtect has been developed to address the environmental exposures associated with municipalities. Unforeseen pollution incidents arising from the operation of schools, parks, roadways, waste water treatment facilities and other services may lead to third-party claims which, if left uninsured, may impact the financial resources of the municipality. As a result, the funds available for these public services may be reduced.
Features and Benefits Back To Top
  • Clean-Up Costs, Property Damage and Bodily Injury are included in the policy form. Underground storage tanks (USTs) can be scheduled by endorsement to the policy.
  • Coverage is offered for Waste Disposal Activities, including illicit abandonment of waste by a third party transporter.
  • The policy specifically addresses bodily injury and clean-up costs for legionella pneumophila and microbial matter, which includes fungus, mould, and mildew.
  • Clean-Up Costs are now included for bacteria and viruses, to the extent required by the Public Health Agency of Canada or by the local health department.
  • Emergency Response Costs allows an Insured to quickly respond to a pollution condition that requires immediate action, regardless of whether or not a written claim is received.
  • CrisisResponse® may minimize the impact of negative publicity surrounding an event.
  • Coverage is available for Clean-Up Costs for new and unknown Pre-Existing Pollution Conditions.
  • Protection from third-party claims for Clean-Up Costs, Bodily Injury, and Property Damage, including Natural Resource Damage, resulting from Pollution Conditions, is provided in the policy form.
