Note:
1. Mishaps refer to fire, lightning, explosion of domestic appliances, smoke damage, earthquake, bursting and overflowing of domestic water pipes but excluding damage arising from wear and tear, damage to a vehicle not belonging to or under the control of the insured or a member of the insured's family, aircraft damage, riots and strikes, malicious damage, spontaneous combustion and theft by violent and forcible entry.


^ This excludes appliances that are still covered by the manufacturer's warrant or any other warranty.

Household Contents*

Alternative Accommodation  
Covers alternative accommodation expenses if your home is made uninhabitable by insured perils**.

Third Party Liability with the Insured Premise  
Provides cover if you are held liable for accidental bodily injury or property damage to any third party. Includes legal expenses incurred in Singapore.

Multi-Appliances Extended Warranty  
Warrants nominated home appliances*** between 1-5 years from the first purchase date.

* Household contents refer to renovated items, fixtures and fittings installed by the insured, household furniture and furnishings, clothing, personal effects and valuables belonging to the insured or to members of his/her family.
 
** Insured perils refer to fire, lightning, explosion of domestic appliances, smoke damage, earthquake. Bursting and overflowing of domestic water pipes (excluding wear and tear), damage to a vehicle not belonging to or under the insured’s control or immediate family, aircraft damage, riot and strikes, malicious damage, spontaneous combustion and theft by violent and forcible entry. Excess applies for selected insured perils, per details specified in policy terms and conditions.

*** Home appliances include television, conventional or microwave oven and refrigerator for Silver Plus plan and television, conventional or microwave oven, refrigerator, cooker hood, cooker hob and window, 1-3 split air-con for Gold Plus plan.

 

1. Who can enrol for HomePlus?
Owners of all housing types.

2. When will my policy be effective?
Your policy will be effective on the date of receipt of your application form and upon full payment received. However, for multi-appliances extended warranty, there is a waiting period of 30 days from the original date of inception.

3. Is there any excess/deductible?
There is a nominal excess of $200 for resultant damage caused by burst water pipes within the home. For theft, there is an excess of $100 for each and every claim.

4. What are the main excluded items?

This policy does not cover accidental death of aircrew, members of armed forces, policemen, seamen and divers at work. Injuries due to diseases or illnesses are not excluded.

Under household contents, financial instruments such as deeds, bonds, bills of exchange and the like, cash, currency notes, bank notes, manuscripts, medals and coins, motor vehicles and accessories, livestock, computer systems records, business books, books of account and contents left in the open are not covered.

Multi-Appliances Extended Warranty does not cover appliances that are still covered by the manufacturer's warranty or other warranty.

5. For multi-appliances extended warranty, what happens if the parts to be repaired are no longer available?
If parts for the appliances are no longer available, cash payment equivalent to the repair cost will be paid. This cash payment shall not exceed $200.

6. Is the insurance transferable if I move to another residence within Singapore?
Yes. Simply inform us in writing and we will amend your address in the policy schedule.

7. Who shall I call if I need assistance on policy related matters or to make a claim?
