Employed Lawyers Professional Liability Insurance (Corporate Counsel Premier®) provides general counsel attorneys coverage for claims alleging professional malpractice. Corporate Counsel Premier® incorporates a number of D&O terms and conditions to reduce the risk of gaps in coverage, especially for securities claims. Corporate Counsel Premier® includes vital protection for the personal assets of corporate attorneys and the employing public or private company against malpractice claims including client lawsuits and claims initiated by shareholders, employees, or other third parties.
- Includes coverage of monetary and non-monetary demands, binding arbitration, administrative proceedings, or compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 and defense costs for injunctive relief included in suits
- Responds to ethics and licensure proceedings concerning the eligibility for license of in-house counsel to practice law
- Provides defense of claims made alleging otherwise covered wrongful acts of insured persons, even if allegations are proven groundless
- Extends to <i>pro bono</i> or moonlighting services provided by in-house counsel
- Provides non-rescindable coverage for corporate counsel and staff including include full-time, part-time, contract, and independent contractor attorneys, as well as paralegals and clerical staff supporting legal services
- Provides coverage for employment-related claims arising out of reliance upon legal services of an in-house counsel
- Zero deductible and no co-insurance for non-indemnifiable loss standard
