Political Risk Insurance
Political Risk Insurance offers investors, financial institutions and corporate clients investment protection in overseas markets against unpredictable losses due to specified political risk perils. The "menu" of typical insured risks includes confiscation, expropriation, nationalization; currency inconvertibility and non-transfer; terrorism, sabotage, war, insurrection, rebellion; government act, law order or decree; contract frustration, sovereign non-performance or payment default, and wrongful calling of contract guarantees and bonds. Coverage can be tailored to the insured's requirements for a broad range of overseas exposures, including equity investments, physical assets, cross-border loans or contracts for goods and services.
- Coverage is designed to protect insureds' physical assets, ownership rights, contractual rights or creditor rights against losses that can result from various political risk perils
- Coverage limits up to $120 million per any one risk (larger policies are also possible)
