Product Liability Wrap-Up for Foreign-Based Multinationals
When U.S. distributors purchase goods from foreign-based suppliers, they run an even greater risk of product liability exposure than if they were to purchase goods from distributors located in the U.S. Depending upon their location, foreign suppliers sometimes do not have access to markets that can provide product liability coverage and are often beyond the effective reach of U.S. jurisdiction—two factors that dramatically increase the threat of a distributor to pay the full expense of a product liability claim if ever filed.
Product Liability Wrap-up insurance gives U.S. distributors the option to purchase not only product liability insurance for themselves, but also for the foreign suppliers they are purchasing from.
